compactors
Compactors are used to reduce the volume of waste stored on board. Afterwards it can be properly disposed of in port.
For easy handling and sorting we have in the program the:

Uson Multi Chamber Compactor, UMCC
This unique unit makes it possible to perform general waste treatment and basic, cost efficient source sorting in one single unit. The UMCC has different waste chambers which may be used for various purposes, such as compaction and baling of plastic film or cardboard boxes or compaction of plastic bottles, fruit crates, mixed dry waste and cans. The press power unit is moved side-wards with a “dead man’s hand” grip and a side motion motor, thus securing safe and comfortable operation.
- Flexibility with everything from 2 to 8 chambers; also adjustable after delivery.
- Three chamber appearances: for sack compaction, baling and tin compaction.
- Standard unit with four chambers for: sack compaction, tin compaction and 2 x baling.
- Easily assembled; easily serviced from front.
- Hammer-finish enamelled strong steel frame construction.
- 5 ton press force reduces a volume of 700 litres to 125 litres.
- Baling at full press force.
- Variable bale size.
- Signal for ready sack/bale.
- Front door locked during compaction.
Operators of smaller vessels in the short sea shipping might find the UBP30S a single chamber sack compactor handy. This baling press is among the most economically efficient waste treatment systems available. Of the total dry waste generated on a ship today, up to 50 percent is cardboard and plastic film. These materials are easy to leave for recycling if packed properly. By recycling it is possible to lower the disposal cost dramatically.
The UBP baling presses are designed for easy maintenance and robustness. The semi-automatic bale ejection is of great help for the crew in handling the bales that can weigh up to 50 kg. The garbage is compacted directly in a sack. The bales of cardboard or plastic are easily stored and transported ashore with a fork lift. Typical locations in ships are close to the source, such as the waste handling room, the dry provision area and the shops /tax-free.
- For compressing cardboard boxes, plastic film, sacks etc.
- High capacity in a small space.
- Rigid steel frame construction.
- Electromechanical drive. Low noise level.
- Infinitely variable press power.
- Automatic indication for full bale.
- Baling at full press force.
- Variable bale size.
- Manual strapping of bale by wire or bands.
- Motor-driven ejection of bale.
- Easy maintenance from front.
- Emergency stop and safety switches on the doors.
